“The UN Global Marketplace is coming to Greece” - Business Forum with the participation of UN agency officials
The Special Secretariat’s initiative “Partnership for Business Externalisation” (available only in Greek) is aimed at strengthening the externalisation of Greek businesses vis-a-vis the UN procurement market and was set up following a series of successful bilateral meetings in April between officials of the Foreign Ministry’s Special Secretariat for the Development of International Programmes and UN procurement officers.
UN procurements for goods and services are worth more than $10 billion annually.
But our country’s participation in this particular market should be improved, given that Greece has the lowest turnover among developed countries.
With a view to increasing the share of Greek companies in UN contracts, the Special Secretariat is organising events in the coming months in order to raise awareness and educate business managers and it is carrying our networking actions with the competent officials of the United Nations.
Greek businesses will have an opportunity to take part in a Business Forum to be held at the end of October by the Special Secretariat and meet with officials of different divisions of the United Nations. They will thus be able to have personal contacts, promote their businesses’ image, learn more about tender procedures and increase their prospects for concluding contracts with the United Nations.
With a view to optimizing the preparation of Greek companies for the October event, the Special Secretariat is organising a three-day training seminar on 15-16-17 July (available only in Greek) to give participants the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with experienced specialized consultants.
