On behalf of the Prime Minister, the government and, most of all, the Greek people who are going through difficult times, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone and to each of you individually for the wave of support and solidarity that you have given our country to help it face the consequences of the many devastating forest fires that have been raging in many parts of Greece these past few days.

I call on you to keep in contact with our diplomatic and consular missions in the areas where you live, in order for your touching tokens of love, support and assistance to be put to the best possible use as effectively as possible.
