Four international events aiming at raising awareness and facilitating the preparation of the relevant policy papers.
A series of events in Bali and New York, Geneva and Vienna organised by the Greek Chairmanship of HSN, the first two in co-operation with UNICEF, and the other with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, respectively. Every event was dedicated to each one of the population groups -women, children and people fleeing their home due to climate change, identified as most vulnerable, according to the priorities of the Greek HSN Chairmanship. The aim of these events was to raise awareness and to provide input for the finalisation of relevant policy papers to be presented and discussed during an International Conference on Human Security and Climate Change that will be held back to back with the upcoming HSN Ministerial Meeting (May 29 and 30, 2008) in Athens.
