Pursuant to article 5 of the Decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs no 3497.3/550/draft number 4000 of 30/12/2005, the following documents are defined as general supporting documents:
- A completed copy of the harmonised application form for a uniform visa (Council Decision 354/2002/EC) accompanied by a recent photograph of the applicant.
- A valid passport or other travel document recognized by our country, in compliance with those listed in the table of travel documents subject to a visa, enabling third-country nationals to cross the Union’s external borders, with a period of validity that must exceed the date of expiry of the visa by three (3) months (art. 13, para. 2 CIS).
- A copy of the applicant’s criminal record issued by the local authorities.
- A medical certificate from a recognised state or private establishment certifying the absence of any disease that might jeopardise public health, in accordance with international standards and the World Health Organisation, as well as of any other infectious or parasitic diseases that necessitate measures for the protection of public health.
- Travel insurance with a period of validity equal, at least, to that of the granted visa, covering any expenses that might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment during their stay.
- Apart from the abovementioned general documents, the applicant must also submit to the competent diplomatic and consular authorities the supporting documents provided for in each case in the abovementioned Decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs – specifically, in articles 6-36.
