Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Th. Kassimis met with the delegate of his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Ivan Tomko who is visiting our country to attend the feasts for the close of the “Pauline Year”.

Cardinal Ivan Tomko who arrived, here, on 25 June 2009 attended several events which were celebrating the two thousand years since the birth of the “Apostle of Nations” by the major Christian Churches, the Orthodox and the Catholic.

At the meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Kassimis and the Romeo Catholic official they discussed the excellent bilateral relations betwenn Greece and the Vatican while they exchanged views on the course of the ecumenical dialogue and for the community of values that constitute the social bedrock of the European civilization, in the West and the East.
