Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Th. Kassimis met today, Thursday 2 June 2009, with the President and Vice President of the American-Jewish organization B’nai B’rith Mr. Moishe Smith and Daniel Mariaschin respectively.

Their discussions focused on issues of international interest of common interest. Specifically, the discussed the prospects of reviving the peace process in the Middle East after the crisis in Gaza, the election of new leaderships in the steering wheel of the US and Israel and under the spotlight of the efforts of the internal Palestinian consolidation. They also discussed the developments after the elections in Iran and the probable consequences on the Tehran’s nuclear programme.

The two visitors expressed their interest on issues that occupy the Greek Israeli community. They, also, expressed their estimation on the tireless efforts of the Greek State for the repatriation of the archives of the Israeli communities in Athens and Thessaloniki that were stolen by the Occupation Forces in World War II and were transported to Moscow.
